Def a good starter flash but still have to know what you are doing. This review is from: Vivitar Viv-Df-183-Can AF SLR Flash for Canon (Electronics) As a flash, to replace your popup flash, Df-183 is a good. The flash works great as a fill in flash and bounces the light off the ceiling to avoid shadows and flat light. I use it with my T1i. That said it looks and feels like a cheap product. 1. Start with installing batteries; the polarity signs are very hard to read. 2. When I try to tilt the flash it feels like it'd break it any time and need to be careful. 3. Finish is very substandard. If you are on a tight budget or a armature user like me this product is for you. For $45/- I'd say it is a okay buy.
